I took the boys fishing today. The girls stayed home and did a craft project. This is Noah's largest Trout he's caught so far- 17.5"! We weren't even sure if they could fish, it's the first day the pond has thawed enough to get a hook in. Noah is 14 years old, and still likes hanging with grandpa!
Super cute!!!
ReplyDeleteNice fish. I've not caught a trout that large. Peter, where is your fish?
ReplyDeleteI don't fish; I know, kinda strange. But I do enjoy watching the kids & untangling, which is grandpa's full time job.
ReplyDeleteNot any stranger than someone who likes to fish, but wouldnt eat one if my life counted on it. Well, maybe then.
ReplyDeleteMy I love fishing and they are the best to eat .. Have you ever had a fresh steelhead ( which are just big trout )lathered in butter, lemon and fresh ground pepper. Covered with onion and garlic and wrapped in foil and baked for 45 min. Nothing better !
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are having great fun!
Your recipe sounds great- if you omit the fish! Just kidding, fish is an amazing food when it's all spiced up like that. I love white fish best, but it doesn't seem to like spice like the red does. Not in my experience anyway.
ReplyDeletei know people that take it fresh out of the river, gut and clean, already have a fire going. wrap it in tin foil with a lemon and bake then and there.
ReplyDeletei have to admit that "sounds" good.
or maybe its just the fact its outdoors, by a river, with a fire, and your fishing. mmmmmm
