Projects progress
Still need the roof over the front, stairs and a ramp in the front. Here is the first bank of shelves. It is slowly getting there. Later on I will have to remove all of them when I go to insulate and drywall everything. It would have been better to do it first but there is an issue of funds availability. Oh well, I knew it would come down to this. But at least I can use it in the mean time. Next year hopefully the tower, gazebo and fish pond. Maybe I'll have a decent looking yard in the process. This year was too busy to keep it up. Will just have to wait and see if I managed to kill all the flowers in this process.

Wow, Illa, this is just absolutely beautiful work! Have you thought about starting your own company? Seriously.
its wonderful Illa, so proud of you, sometimes, it takes a woman, to get things done, laugh!!! You've done a beautiful job.
I had thought about it but I just don't know. The labor on this is staggering. Now I can see why labor on something like this is 2-3 times the cost of materials. I have helped out my neighbor on her place while doing this and don't charge her which just surprises her. Several other people have asked if I would do stuff for them but I don't know if they are serious or not. I would have to really think about it. It would be a good job as I am really enjoying this but it changes when you have to do it for a living. I do know that I wouldn't build a house for someone. Might do it as a side job and do handyman stuff. I did rebuild a floor and install a toilet for the other lady. I can see why my father loved building his own house even tho he died before getting to finish it. That kind of worries me as I am now the age when he started the house and he died at 57 from a heart attack. Doing his regular job as a power house operator and then the house the rest of the time. I love the feeling you get when you see what you have accomplished and the knowing that you CAN do it. I still have the stairs and ramp to do and that will be another story. But I don't think I would mind doing stuff like this.

i got to hep at times 2 when i had time to run down ever other weekened :D, looks great mom, awesome job!!!!
nice job Illa. it looks like you have been having fun.
Good job, Illa! There is a sense of accomplishment that is hard to convey when a person does something that they imagined in their mind.
I like the shelves. There's no such thing as too much shelf space.
Look at our garage. I think sheetrock is over-rated. I'd still like to build a house, but I would not do the sheetrock. The little bit I've done, I've hated every second of dealing with it.

So, I get to help paint right? I might not be as tough as you, but I can wield a brush!
Looks awesome mom. Hopefully next year I'll be able to go over more often and help more with the construction projects.
And you don't get to die. Not allowed.
