My NEW Ride

I took the little car down for it's service and came home with this. I decided that I needed a more practical rig now as the suburban needs a new rearend. Its a 1/2 ton/ 4 door/ 4 wheel drive with lots of room to haul grandkids still. It is 3 years old. I gave the Sante Fe to BJ so he has a good vehicle again and he can take his time repairing his 90 pick up. Teresa has her good Jeep and then yesterday I gave the old Jeep to Adam so that he has a dependable rig to haul the grandkids around in His dad was unable to get him a car so I decided "Why not?" It is also less that I have around here and at least then it will be used. It has been the "spare" rig for a long time now. I plan to sell the suburban and then fix up Ben's Pickup for the heavy hauler as it is still a good vehicle. I have sold Ben's bike to the husband of one of the gals I work with. They are supposed to pick it up this week sometime. I really think they will enjoy it and John is big enough to handle it.

we have had rain and snow off and on the last week so I am glad that I got a new rig. We have to go to Redding today to get the fabric coating on the pickup and to pick up fenders for BJ's 70 ford tow truck. He is slowly getting it fixed up. It will still need a hood and front grill. Everything supposedly works, just needs a tune up and the carbeurator adjusted.

Lili, I talked to the girl at work and I have Friday the 8th off, so Teresa and I plan to be up sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning. We are going to take off after the Dish Network repair guy is done Monday the 4th. Will probably get a room up that way somewhere as I don't know just what time approx. we would get there.

Well, best get going as I need more coffee. Hope all is well. Love to all. See you soon.

Love Illa and Teresa

Jess & me

Saw the lawyer today, he wishes to have me call him, after the next Dr. Visit.

Jess and I have been hit on all sides, talk about disastor, with all that is going but God is good, Jess is alive,....

Our life has taken turn like one would not believe but the most important is we are in this as two people facing it as a unit. The life we knew is changing, but it is together we are doing it. He is so thankful I am with him. He knows it, and knows I will be there for the changes taking place.

Thank God for weekends.

Wow, all those appointments that Jess has coming up, and they’re not just going to be giving him a pedicure or a simple massage! After watching the adventure that Jess and Lili have been going through it’s easy to see now how a person’s life can be changed in an instant.

This morning I read the CNN question of the day. The question was “Is there anything that you wish that you could relive from your high school days?” The question was from an article about two football teams that had played to a tie in 1993. At the time the rules stated that when regulation time was over the game was over. The teams are now getting a chance to replay their history and relive their glory days. Now would be an opportunity for one to actually claim bragging rights and not just "kiss their sister." Evidently this is a phrase used when teams play to a tie with no clear winner. This opportunity to experience the past has led some to do things that they have had difficulty with; losing weight, fitness, and reviving relationships. There was something about the story that was compelling to me. It was, for these players, a chance to step back in time, to reclaim the youth that they once were, a time to relive what once was. I didn’t vote, but was amazed at the number of people that said ‘yes’ to the question, 55%. This says to me that many people have things in their past that they wish they could relive, change, or otherwise manipulate. I don’t see this as a bad thing, but rather a wake-up call to myself to not look forward to tomorrow so much that I don’t enjoy today.

Last week was bUSY with a capital B. May 4 is the start of the state testing, so I’m trying to figure out what holes my students have in Language Arts, Math, and Science and address their needs as best as possible. Monday I didn’t get home until 8:00 at night. Wednesday night not until 8:00. Thursday night Sandi and I got her room ready for a Renaissance Festival that she put on Friday. Friday I took a group of students on a hike after school complete with roasting hotdogs on the river bank and got home at 6:00, but we did get to watch Gonzo until 11:00. See, there is a God. Weekends are too short, and weeks are too long.

Today, Saturday, we went on a short bushwhacking foray on a trail that I had been on only once. We only walked about an hour, but walked until we ran out of trail. It could have been worse though, we were in the redwoods. The wind has been blowing so hard here I’ve lost the rosy tinge that I had on my cheeks after we came back from Phoenix, and my hair is slipping down my back.

Jess

I just found an apartment for Jess, it's in the same Apartments, as Lisi but in the building across the street from here, will post the address once he moves to his location.?mid May #135, Ardendale Apartments, he will be released to Lisi address. Will be staying until they can have the apartment ready.

Gonzo March 27

I think I may mave heard Gonzo say his first word(s). I think I heard him say, "Grandpa." In fact I may have even heard, "Grandpa, when are we going fishing?" It could have been the light, but that's what I think he said.

Jess and Tinker

We had a wonderful day, Jess had Tinker most of the day. He is looking so much better, his brother Bud came and saw him. I took Lisi to have her hair cut, and also to see Jess. Oh, by the way Jess cut his hair at the place he is at.
Also a shampoo, he'd not had it done, (shampoo) from before the car wreak. I smelled.:(, even Jess commented on it.

He is doing so great, they are quit impressed with the way he is doing, he wants to get out.

Love to all, called Bonnie and spoke to Rick, he sounded great. I know Bonnie is busy like myself and I miss them. It has been quite eventful as someone took my wallet, so now I have to have everything replaced, just what I needed adding to all of the other stuff I an dealing with, gerrrrr like there is more I need to do. Oh by the way there location I feel in love with, and the people are great!!!! Nothing like the southern charm.

Susan Boyle

We just got back from Atlanta. Ricks Dr gave him a clean bill of health and said he is actually ahead of schedule with his healing. So it looks like our little vacation is coming to an end soon and we will be getting back to work in about 1 1/2 weeks. We will probably be getting a new truck which is always fun. We found out our company is back to hiring which is a good sign.

On our way home last yesterday, Ricks son called to tell us his wife was dying so we went to see her. I was shocked at how bad see looked. She is not coherent any more and is in so much pain they can't hardly touch her. She is no able to swallow and they have removed her feeding tube. She reminded me of Ricks dad just before he died. It is so sad because she is so young and leaving two kids behind.

Well got to go mow the lawn and get some yard work done. It is a beautiful day and all the flowers and bloomed out. I brought more plants and flowers so will have fun planting today. My only problem is that the bee's are out to and I am terrified of them. I'll keep my shot handy.

Jess, Tinker & me

We are spending a wonderful day today, he has dressed and tinker is on the bed with him. He is looking great, but the food to salty, not as good as the hospital.

He is working hard to get better, I will be returning to St. Helens to clean out the food and look at what I need to do next, getting ready to move stuff from the trailor. Looking to gather all the paperwork to pack. Some I can only do. I will be packing motor cycles and all tools together, his personal items in another, my stuff in it's own area, furniture and household seperate. All will move forward, then I have items that will go east.

Life is busy, he will have his personal care giver, so that will be giving me time to do what I need, I wounded if it would be cheeper to rent a warehouse, to put everything, that way all could be moved into one location, and then just seperated....

If you're bored...

and want to read about about 999 words and see 91 pictures of our trip, click the title.

In the days of yore people didn't have this option, but now you're able. We would like to see your pictures, read your reflections, and understand how you are doing too.

Jim

Happy Easter

Just want ya all to know I am thinking about you. Thanks so much for your email Jimbo. It looks like you had a great trip. Those are areas we through on a regular basis in the truck. Different times a day give us a new and awesome show of the red hill and rocks. Quartzite is a regular fuel stop for us before we go into Calif. It's so much fun when we can stop when all the snow birds are there and set up end to end with all there booths open and cooking all the different goodies. You could spend 3 days just going around and looking at everything they bring in.
At first I thought you meant the Red Rocks in Nevada where they put on concerts, those are really awesome. If you ever have a chance to see them, do it.

You chose a fun little car to cruise around in although I would have gone for a maroon Mustang Convertible.

Wow, Antiques Lili, hope you aren't throwing anything away that Suzy and I would fight you for. That is something we do share is our love of antiques, although she knows a lot more about them than me.

Love Ya all

Jess

Saw Jess this evening, he was doing great, removed everything, taking his pain med. And had his nails and toes done by Bud's daughter, talked up a storm, It was good for Jess to connect to her, that had a nice visit.

He is really working to get out of the hospital and to Lisi place. It will be good for him, he was able to walk to the bathroom, twice.

I have been busy with Dick, it's great to connect and we've really been getting things done, or should I say Dick, and a great guy that Jess and I know. He's a wonderful person that Jess and I have had business in the past.

Dick up in some posts on one side of the house, it's great working with him and connecting as brother and sister. He'd be able to tell you more..... Lili

I thought you'd like to see this

Click on the title above. This is a story about a fellow that was dying of terminal cancer, but decided to go see the Redwoods instead of going through more medical procedures. Sound familiar? I like the perspective of this article. It makes me more appreciate the the way Ben made his decisions before he left us.

Dick

To all, Just wanted you all to know, Dick has been wonderful helping me out, it's so wonderful connecting with him. He is such a wonderful little brother. He has also been wonderful with Jess, reminds me of the good old days. Dick get's a lot of stars from me.

It is wonderful to see him and Jim connect, as they share such good times, we are all going through stuff and it's wonderful to see us all working as a family..... Love to all. Lili

Jess

He just came back to his room, knee and lower leg operated on, he's sleeping, all is good. I am with him, until he comes around and will be with him. Maybe go out to the house and sleep there tonight as I need to meet with his coffee buddy's and attend to business. With everything it's been importent I was at his side. Tinker knows her daddy is ok, will bring her up after he comes around.

Sunday, April 5, 2009

Jess

He is in a lot of pain, he's not wanted to take the heavy med's, but is doing great, they can't believe his heart rate. He is looking forward to the operation to be over, we will know Monday, the swelling is going down. If it is not down in the area that they are working with, they will clean it. I don't know much but will find out what time he goes in Monday.

I have to deal with the billing, of the household, also. The hospital lost his phone, so have a new one coming. Also it's been great to see the family come visit him.

At Burgerville, to get Jess his coffee and go see him with Tinkerbell and Lisi, then do business looking at a Buick for Jess, as he will need this for his needs, and if he needs anything special will take it to the location in Portland that they can equipped for Jess and his needs, so he can be be free to do what he needs.

Jess

Jess is off life support and I took Tinkerbell up to see him, it was priceless, on both sides, she snuggled up to him, would not let the nerses near him. Shut her eye's and just snuggled.

I like this picture

I liked how everyone was smiling in this one. This was up at the lake. Karen had fallen and hurt her back, that's why she's not there. PnK

Its cold out

its like 46 deg and raining and it feels like it could snow.
thats one of the things i noticed being back. I cant seem to get warm. I put on my layers, wear my liner in my jacket, and seem I cant dress warm enough. Down south I could wear my hoodie and be just right. Last night it seemed like it was in the mid 30s.
I even put a hat on and still not warm enough.
oh well
Dick

jess

he went in for the operation at 10:30AM, to have the patch for draining on his right leg cleaned, and also having pins in his right arm done, from what I gather they put in 2 of them.

He is drugged and sleeping right now,he was returned to his room around 1:30PM, so all is well, he was aware but still drugged. Now he is just resting, I look forward the the one on Monday to be finished with.

Tinkerbell went into the doctor at 10:30 AM to be checked out, and the bill will be sent the the lawyer. She ate for the first time, as Lisi and Judy her caregiver took her to Burgerville, and she was able to get a hamburger, so she is happy. The first food from when she was with Jess.

I know that seeing her doctor and getting everything checked out with her, so she could come see Jess, her daddy. Made her feel she was being seen, dog's do know, that they also need to be seen to their oweee's. She knows how we do see to those that are hurt and take care of each of them. This is her time.....

I will keep all posted, and it's wonderful to have Dick helping and my family also, Lueria was wonderful, I was so worried for her, as I understood, how upset she would be with her uncle being hurt,.... I was worried more for her, as I knew I had wonderful care in place for Jess, but no one knew, also am aware of the work at this Hosital,... it was all in God's hands. United overbooked so I could be sent as fast as they could.

I send Love to the most wonderful family and all, while I was trying to get to Jess's side, isn't it great what we have!!!!! WE may fight but what love

Aunty Lili and Uncle Jess
