Getting ready to head and get Chuck

I am up this am getting ready to go get Chuck. I called last night to remind him that I was coming. All I got was some mailbox thing. I am going down anyway. So will be leaving in a couple of hours. Not awake yet. So hopefully will be bringing him back here for a few days before the reunion.

well, there is a rearend under the suburban. Don't know yet if it works. I need to have the brakes bled still so will get that done later. Have to be soon tho if I need to use it for the people mover. I wasn't too pleased with one of the workers. His brother on the other hand was a worker and did the majority of the work. They broke one of my tools, they did not come totally prepared to work on it. So it's off to Napa on the way down to get it replaced. Supposed to have a lifetime warranty on it as I paid an arm and leg for the set.

Anyway. Talk to you all later. Love you guys.

got gas

if your going to the reunion and coming from Oregon.
get gas before you get to california, the price differance is about 30¢ a gallon cheaper.
if going down the coast, get it just south of brookings. about 1 mile after you go over the bridge at the chevron on the right hand side. the camp ground is about 12-15 miles from there.
if going 199. get it in cave junction.
just trying to help out.

Jess

Only one more time, at the clinic, then x-ray done on leg, ..... moving forward, looking at staying in Vancouver now, as limited with what Jess can do with his walking, no way can he deal with the house in St. Helens,.......... saw the Lawyer Monday, funny, Lueria's place of work is only one block over, ..... day off, but it's a wonderful area she's at. we took the Bus over to the Max in Park Rose, then to 10Th and got onto the street car, up to Marshall, right at the corner, .... walked around Portland, went over to Virginia Cafe, and had lunch, right across from the library.
Jess is walking with a cane now, and he walked up to where he goes for his thropy, little over a mile.... all is good, Tinkerbell loved it, that she was able to stay home, and not go over to Lisi place,... miss the sun.

Did you hear the cry?

That's right, a cry, maybe even a scream. That would be my cry of sorrow, and scream of distraught, signaling the end of summer. Tomorrow is my first report day and I am not a happy camper. Just say I will not be in a good mood tomorrow.

Lisi and Jess

Back to Vancouver, with my sister and Jess, he has one more week to do at the care center, and then he is on his own, doing great, both of them, happy to see me back and running back and forth, from the two places.

Great going out for coffee, have missed that, also working with getting stuff done, that I was in the process of doing. Was great seeing and spending time with Chuck, he's a wonderful brother, but also great to see him, working on his needs now.

Yes i can

he must of migrated back down south to get away from the hot weather.

Can you believe it?

I step out to get the paper and who walks behind me? You guessed it. The Big Guy, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Oh-mah, or whatever he's know by in your neck of the woods. Lucky for me I had a camera, albeit, one that takes a fuzzy picture. Could it be that Bigfoot is just kind of fuzzy in real life? Anyway, there he was right outside our front door trying to steal the paper.

The progress.....

Well, here it is so far.........somehow it lost the pictures. trying again.

I forgot to add that I found a rear end for the suburban. It is coming from Alturas. For $450 they are pulling the one of their rig and then bringing it down and taking mine off and putting in the new one. The guys sons are mechanics. So will see how it goes. Supposedly they are going to do it this weekend. So hopefully the peoplemover will be ready for the reunion. We may need it.

Doesn't anyone ever knock around this joint?

I thought that would get your attention.

We're (Sandi mostly) watching the Gonz for five days while Randy and Claudia are taking a little well-deserved vacation. This is our last week of break before school starts and of course I waited until the end of summer to roof the Mason Court house. I wanted to do it earlier in the summer, but playing, among other things, got in the way. So, I hired a family relative to do it. I'm playing 'gopher' and working with him. My ankles feel as if I'm Peter's age or something. Hopefully, we'll be done tomorrow.

FYI: For all of you out there that know a man that you care about, or basically know of someone that knows someone that is a man....there's a special on prostate cancer on CNN's Larry King this Friday at 6:00. Yes, I'll keep you posted on any gizzard specials that come on too.

Looking up ...

Today was Chardo's last day in court. The judge dismissed the second charge and he is now free of all court stuff ... Funny Bonn ie called a few minutes before I headed up to court. Then off to see Lisi and Jess. All is well.

The grandkids are gone ... I had literally wall to wall kids for weeks !!! Up till 1,2,3, ...A>M> each night while riding herd on kids running on the roof ... yes u heard me ... I remember the roof being a great place to sit, run ... etc .... They had friend over, played games, swam at midnight .. we had fun fun fun ... a summer to remember and no one broke a leg or anything! We had our family protrait done ... the first time ever I had my whole family of kids and gr. kids with me.

Bonnie and Rick

How is the packing going?? Have you all got the truck yet? Guess you should be just about ready to load. I do not envy you this chore. We have moved enough. I never realized just how tru it was when we said that we weren't going to again and that we would die here, but I was really thinking that it would happen when we were 90.

So, waiting to hear when you are on the road. Drive safe and have a good trip. Love you guys.

Gonzo, Grandma, and Grandpa sharing a laugh.

"Grandma, that 'knock knock' joke was hilarious."

Roof is DONE

Adam has been here today and helping me with the roof. It is on and all screwed down. Have to put silicon in a hole that wouldn't take a screw. I think there was a screw under it holding down the sheeting. It was strange only one on the whole roof. Thought for sure that there would be more. Adam actually come over yesterday as he if off for 2 days and we got the B B Q on the deck. We opened it and there was a wasp nest. Closed it again and got the spray. I zapped them only to get hit with a bullet. One flew out and hit me in the hand and I think that it also had some of the spray on it's stinger. My right hand swelled up so bad I had trouble getting my rings off and started up the arm. It is better today after using it but man o man. Good thing I had lots of Benadryl type stuff to take. It was the worst sting that I can remember since I was a child. I was almost at the point about 2 am last night of going to the hospital. They couldn't have done much more for me than what I was already doing. I just increased my Benadryl dosage. I go to work tomorrow and thank heavens that I don't have to do much as I am training my replacement. He can do most of the physical stuff.

Now!!! On with the walls and flooring and finish the wiring for a couple more outlets. Then a few shelves to start the organization and move to the front. Yeah!!

Talk to you all later.

THE RESULT OF MOVING STRESS

I guess this is better than crying.
I have to keep pinching myself to make sure all this is really true, that we are finally coming home. Never before has God made it more clear that this is His timing so it is the right time. Zack and our grandson are so excited to be moving here.
We are taking the last few trip to Goodwill today and then just organizing the rest of the boxes to load up the the truck.

This may seems small to some but to me it's huge. We are getting our truck and starting to load it on the 23rd. YOUR BIRTHDAY SUZY!!! And the start of our new life. This year is so special to us. Getting to finally see Gonzo, Richardo being with all the family now and starting his life with those that love him and us being there to share with the people we love so dearly. All of you have never been more important in my life as you are right now and I can't tell you how happy and thankful I am to you Suzy for giving Rick and I this opportunity to work for you which gives us this chance to come home. I know God will continue to bless you for the love you give. Just as the bible says, "As you do it one of the least, you do it to ME"
See Ya All at the reunion. I am so excited to see Chuck. I don't even remember the last time we saw eachother.

Talked to Chuck today.

I called and talked to Chuck and Lili today. They both are doing well. I will be going down the 27th to pick up Chuck and bring him here for a few days before going to the reunion. We will be coming back on the 28th and he wants to stop by the Library in Redding so we will do that. I will have to work pms the 29th and 30th in addition to the 31st and 1st so that I can have the 7th and 8th off also. My schedule changes the 22nd and I give up 2 days a week so that I can get more done at the house and just be a floater while everyone else takes their vacations. I will miss the extra funds but I can do easier without it than others that are working. So Chuck will be at the reunion. I suppose that with Lili going back to Portland that she will try to bring Jess and Lisi down if they are able to come. I forgot to ask her if that was what she planned. I know that she did say that she would see me at the reunion.

I got the tar paper up on the roof of the room. Tomorrow I was going to start on the tin for the roof but I have a lock job to finish and then Adam is having 2 days off from the fire support and he is coming to my house as he is here in Mc Arthur at the fair grounds but with no transportation to leave the area for his time off. I will pick him up tomorrow and then take him back Sat. evening as I won't be able to get him there by 11 am on Sunday. That will be good as he can help me get the metal on the roof. Hopefully we can get most of it done tomorrow afternoon. I have 9 (2 foot sheets) to put up and cut. the room is almost done, just a few things left to do before putting up the outside siding. I am anxious to get to the front porch area. Time is running out. Thank heavens I only have to put in 13 posts that I want to cement in. I am going to definitely ask for help to do that. It killed my back moving the bags of cement for that. I figured with all the heavy lifting that I have been doing it would not be that bad. Boy was I wrong.

I picked up a fuel tank for BJ's halftrack/duck tonight. The price was right "free" but I did have to help take it out which turned out to be a job but I got it and all the parts so hopefully it will fit in without too much revamping. Now if only I can find a rear end for the suburban. I have tooooo many projects.

Well,it is time to go to bed. Many things to do tomorrow and I may as well be awake to do them. Talk to you all later.

Love, Illa

The joy of moving

Neck deep in boxes. Maybe we should just call in a goodwill truck and give it all away. The problem with having too many storage spaces is that they soon fill up. Any suggestions? So far, the dogs have refused to get into a box.

From Richardo via mom typing !

Dear Family;

Thank you for your prayers & your support. I am home! It's been wonderful spending time with the family. I can't wait till the reunion, when I can meet more family and get to know you all.

Mom will recount the events ...

It was terrifying going to court once again and wondering if I'd have to leave my son there. Even the DA felt this should have been thrown out years ago. The judge not only allowed him to come home but he also threw out the charge and the contempt that kept him in jail. Chardo said it was the worse time he'd ever done. I was so glad to get him home.

Again, Lueria went above and beyond to help us out. She allowed Kara and I to take her car home, so we could stay and get Chardo when he got out. They didn't let him out till 9 p.m. She and Rich came by today to pick it up.

Thank you all of your prayers. please give me your #### so we can call you. I lost them when I lost my phone. I know Chardo would like to thank all of you ...

WELCOME HOME RICHARDO

NOW THAT YOU ARE FINALLY HOME, I JUST WANT TO SAY A REAL WELCOME AT LAST.
We and so many others have been praying and looking forward to this day. Can't wait to see you and give you a big hug. God has great plans for you and your being a witness for Him in prison only prepared you for those that will be blessed through you now. God will use you to reach people that no one else can. We are proud of you more than words could ever express. You are a child of God and He values you beyond anything.
Can't wait to see you start posting.
Love You, Uncle Rick and Auntie Bonnie

home.....................................................................................................................................................
let us all praise the Lord, and his first Sabbeth with his family, what a Gift from God, hugs to all.

Sis, so happy for you, and hugs all around.

Heading to Custody Hearing for Chardo

Dear Family;

Thank you for all your well wishes and prayers. My son gave his heart to Jesus years ago and has lived by faith. He has helped change our lives and we need him home, to be here to share his faith with us. We struggle, he is so solid. Perhaps that is why saten is putting these roadblocks up, to discourgae him/us. But my son was dedicated to God many years ago and evil will not win, no matter how we suffer these setbacks.

We're heading for the custody hearing. God is in control and I again place my son in His hands. No matter what the outcome of todays hearing, I must have faith it is God's control. Please pray for my faith. It is so hard to see my son suffer so. He just wants to be home, to have a life and to be free.

Love to all ...

Today in court for Richardo

Well Aunt Suzie asked me to give you the latest. Her and I went to court.  The bad news is He is staying in Portland Jail. Aunt Suzie and the family are so sad. Me too.

The good news is I asked lots of questions and got some answers for him and Aunt Suzie.   at 10:30 am He will need to be get an appointed attorney then can ask for bail. They could not change bail till he had one. They set the dates to aug 12 for a car accadent with only car damage not a person. Even after Aunty payed the bail for that one this last monday.  And another charge for another time was a dine and dash So they kept it in limbo till now. Crazy, Its a 50.00 charge and because he didn't show up for court they put him in contempt. You know crazy he was in prison so how can he show up for that in another state. Again remember this happen 20 years ago plus has not been to trial.  Also 20 years ago if you didn't show they would not release you on bail. ( a law 20 years ago). they have to follow the law then, even if that is not the law now.  We would need to wait to find out the attorney's name and best case he would see a judge Friday. ( like don't hold your breath)

Ok the good news is We ask the Judge and the defensive attorney there what to do. They were nice to give us an "in "what to do.  So we did it and told Richardo story to his appointed attorney assistant at 12:00.  Later today Aunt Suzie found out the attorney was able to moved up his arrainment to friday!  God is good. He opened all the doors.  We did our homework and found out this attorney is great for this. They are hoping to have both dismissed.  He will need to go to court on the 12 and 18. But we are hoping to get bail posted and allowed friday.

So at least we are hoping he can go home till then.   Everyone we talked to can't believe this happen to Rachardo.  This all should have been taken care of before released from prison.

I will be there with Aunt Suzie friday. Keep praying for this to end smoothly. Hugs

Homecoming For Uncle Chardo.

Well homecoming was bittersweet. We all went to Wa. to get him. 3 cars full of family. We spent a couple days camping at Longbeach/Illwaco. Had a great time. He looks great.

Monday he had big plans to take care of some business. But first he had to touch base with the state police to register for community supervision. He was arrrested on a 20 year old warrent for a dine and dash charge. They put a no bail hold on it. Ofcourse we are devestated. He is so tired of paying the price for the things he did in his youth .. He is tired and ready to just live a normal life. Needless to say, he is crushed. I tried everything. To hold anyone on a 20 year old misdemenor is crazy. They took him to Lane county Jail and transferred him to Multnomah County today. He will be arrained tomorrow. I will go to Pdx and hopfully will be bringing him home again.

This is something that should have been cleared up while he was inside, but wasn't. We had no knowledge of this warrent or he would have turned himself in.

Please pray for Chardo. Please pray he is done paying for his youth. He is such a different man. I just want him to get the chance to live a life the rest of us take for granted. PLEASE spend a little time today and tomorrow asking God to give my son the strength to get through this trial and have the chance to live a rightous life.

He will be arrainged at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Justice Center in PDX. Hopefully they are not holding him for anything else he might have done in his youth. I know God is preparing him for a task. God has saved him so often and I know he has tremendous faith. I fear for my son, I greive for his lost life and I want him home so badly.

My Kind of Dog

I searched the site for the pet policy at KOA. Here's the link that writes about it: http://koa.com/petpolicy/ Or click on title above.

Sounds like they like you to call about certain breeds(?) Wouldn't hurt to call, but I think they are concerned with Pits etc. I think this place is going to be very pet friendly. If not, I'm sure all the dogs can live in Jim and Sandy's living room.

Need number of family members coming

Hi guys!! I need to know how many family members from each group of family that will be coming to the reunion. I want to have enough candles for the candle light ceremony at the beach for Ben. I have cups enough, I think. I have to go to Redding this afternoon and want to be able to pick up what I need. I know, I still have a month but I won't be going again until I leave here on the first and then don't want to have to stop and shop on the way. I seems to do that enough as it is when traveling.

We have been having lots of lightning and fires. They aren't really big but lots of little ones. Got hit again last night hard. There will lots more little ones pop up today. This one has a little bit of rain with it. Smells so good, the fresh rain even if it was only a little bit. Dick, you would be in your element here lately. Thank you guys for everything. Love to all.
