A big Car

'57 Buick, one of my favorite cars! Except for my forty foot bus, the biggest gas hog I've owned. Peter Sr.

Ah, but those days are over. Personally, I'd love it if cars ran on a non-poluting fuel. Though now dangerous, I'm looking for Hydrogen. The reason I think Hydrogen is the fuel for Americans, is because the car is so much more than just a commute vehicle; it's part of our entertainment and social lives. I believe this is why the electric car, though being around for decades, has failed to cause much excitement. When I first started driving gas was 25 cents a gallon. Now at 3 bucks and with China soon to compete for every barrel of fuel, five dollars a gallons is very realistic. I'll cut back a bit, but as I see it, most people in the independent trades, who could afford an electric vehicle are just like me, inflation is a relative thing; I just raise the cost of my signs. Honestly, I would like to be more proactive about fossil fuels, but my desire for luxery trumps that. I don't feel so bad though, my "carbon footprint" is probably twenty times less than Al Gores. You're right, hydrogen is still just a gas blowing in the wind as far as being useful at the present time. I think California has 3 stations now and one of them our good governor had his picture taken in front in Sacramento. How many stations does Oregon have?
Maybe you're right about not being proactive. Maybe it will force industry to come up with the answers. We're fortunate, it's a good thing that we can make the choice we want. But, just like the projections for the effects of global warning; it will be felt the most by countries and people who can least afford to do anything about it.
