Following Up on Relative Finder

I thought I would follow up my previous post regarding 23andMe "Relative Finder" with a link to a very interesting blog entry about a man using this tool to trace some unknown aspects of his family history. Here is the link to the blog entry.

I know that some have said the test is too expensive. If you are really interested in having the test done send me an email and I may be able to get a good deal on a test. This company is very good to work and they may be able to get us a deal. Here is a link to send me an email if you are interested.

Thanks again Randy. I don't think there are a lot of the Rouzaud clan who read this blog, but.......

My grand daughter was emailing me, and instead of pwrouzaud, she put p.rouzaud and it went to a guy in France. This was his response to her: "I'would like to know you,you have the same name, where are you from?Do you know FRANCE?
If your name is rouzaud you are from the city of SIGUER localised in the department ARIEGE in the south of FRANCE,you or your parents or your gran'parents or your gran gran parents! There is a thesis on this fact (ecole de CHARTRES"

I answered him, and told him that Emma had limited email privileges; then told him my/Glenda/dad, and what I knew. No response yet.

I looked the town up on Google, right in the Pyrenees mts, where all the trouble makers come from- Basque. So that's probably our family history.

Peter, very cool story!

I bet if you took the 23andMe test you would discover a bunch of matches over there. There are many Euro's using 23andMe to discover ancestors here in the New World.

It could be neat to find out where all the Rouzaud's started out and ended up.

I have been making all sorts of wonderful connections with folks related in different ways to the Garcia's in New Mexico.

I told Lynnette about this and she seemed to be interested. Even if she only has her paternal side only to me it would be helpful when she has children. But at least it would be a start for her.
We talked about some of the issues she faces and i can see how they could be handed down thru our hereditary.
One of these days I NEED to do it for her.

WOW, Peter - the story about our relatives in France fits in with what I have always heard about our name. That we were French Basque as opposed to those trouble makers, the Spanish Basque. When I was little Glenna always said we were French Basque. There is a very famous wine maker from South France with the same spelling. Randy, I am very interested in the 23andme test. Keep me in the loop when you have info.

Hey, I didn't know that Dick was from Oklahoma.

so does that mean im one of those trouble makers?
(insert evil laugh here)
Glenda, I didnt know that either. But some people know more than anyone else.
