Front done for now

Well, the gutters are up and this is as much as I am going to get done.  Still have stairs and a ramp and a door to build yet.  The door is the next most important one so it is next and hope it is done in the next few days.  I think it is going to start storming more than I have time so I can make it thru the winter with the stairs that I have.  If i can get to them then I will but it is not a problem in the weather changes.

Wow! It looks really good. I'll bet that you're glad it's this far along before winter sets in.

I actually have thought about helping people with their projects. i love being able to do this and now that i have sunk my teeth into these, I know that i can do it. Might have to read a book or two for any specific projects but the basics should be the same.

I got the door cut out today and framed, just waiting for the glass from the neighbor. Got one set of stairs done also. It is now raining here. Feels like snow. Got the tools put up about an hour before dark and it was cold. Then I had to go to the neighbors to feed the cats before dark. I fed the horses this morning. hope they can get back and not get stuck somewhere. i can take care of the animals for another couple of days before having to haul some hay to them.

I am losing Grandma Kitty. She has been sick for the last week. Doesn't respond to antibiotics. I thought she was going a couple of days ago as she was really bad but she has a humoungous will to live. They babies that she raised this summer, which weren't hers, are all laying around her to keep her company. She hasn't had babies for about 3 -4 years and she started to nurse them. Their mother's either died or abandoned them. She is a spectacular mother. she is the last cat that survived the house fire and has been sick from the smoke all the time. losing her is like losing Ben all over again. This has been a really hard week especially when I think about this time last year.

I need to change the subject. Hope all is well with everyone. What are everyones plans for Thanksgiving? I plan to spend it in Mc Cloud with the kids. I even plan to spend the night as I have to work from 1-5 that day and don't have to be back at work until 1 pm the next day. I am hoping for good weather and I will be making 3-4 pies as I want to take 1-2, have one here for me, and I promised a co-worker a pie as his family is all spread out and he won't be able to go to any of them.

Well you all have a good week and I will talk to you later. love to all. Illa

It is now snowing here. 1/2 inch since I posted earlier. Only a few minutes. We may have several inches by the morning. Looks pretty but sure cold.

Well, only got 1 inch. But it is melting slowly so should soak in good. I am not going to be able to burn again this year as the nasty neighbors plant their fields right up to the fence and I don't want to burn their winter pasture. I need to have a safe space run around the area but I don't have the necessary tools for that. Plus it is all wet now and when it dries again it will be a green understory and not burn well. Oh well, it won't be the first time. I really need a good tractor and disc but that will come later I hope.

The neighbors made it back really late last night. i saw their lights so I know they made it.

i was down in Dallas today and noticed snow on some of the hills just west of there. I hope the snow holds for my trip south.
