You are right, they have a major fire down there. Also all the money and hi profile names to get more attention and units working there than if it was out in the "country" areas. I have been on fires that the freeways had been blocked of and only emergency equipment was allowed on. You would be surprised at the number of vehicles still on the road !! I have been on fires that had over 8,000 people on it, and close to that on other fires close by. They come from many states, even the east coast. Plus the army and National Guard get called to a lot to provide transportation. It has been that way since the 80's even though the news is acting like it is something new !!

this is actually closer to B.J. & Teresa, about 20 or 30 miles northwest of them. Our was about 10 miles out but out finally after 3 weeks.
