Deck Progress

This is the progress so far. I have moved those stupid blocks so many times. Have a few more to change again to set the ones that will hold the wall for the room at the end. Then when that is set up and roofed, I can move to the front side. It is slowly getting there but faster than I really expected. I do have a bit of help but I am doing most of the manual labor. I do know one thing tho, I am going to change the set up on the front side. It may take a few more boards but I think it will be easier to put up.

The arms are doing ok. It's the back that is killing me. These things are heavy. That and dropping one of those long boards on my left arch/ankle. Didn't break it today but sure turned it black and blue. I may be hobbling then but will be there.

Illa' that looks really well done. Batter boards and the whole enchilada! I hate moving those things around too, that's why I always would bury my posts. You either have the determination of a Polar explorer, or you have the strongest back I've ever seen. (Or you could be just nuts) I'm always bragging about you around my buddies, now I have more fodder.

Great progress! Just keep thinking of all those nice days ahead of you, laying in a lounge chair on the deck soaking in the rays with a book in your hand...sleeping. Ahhhhhhh...

Illa, be careful with yourself...remember you still have to be able to chase those grandkids around and barbeque, etc. The deck is still going to make the place have a different look and feel, near as I can tell from the photos. Love ya.

I am just "NUTS" period. Crazy for tackling this but I hate to pay someone else to do it and it always turns out that if you want it done right (ie: my way, then you need to do it yourself.

Got my new schedule this week. I work 4 days closing. Thur, Fri., Sat, Sun. Thursday might still be up in the air but it is approved at this time. So I will at least have the mornings to work on the decks.

I got to help too! Though I also had to make her go in and eat. :P

Good for you Teresa, some people just need a bit of help to know it's time to rest. It's looking like a work of art. I know what you mean Illa, it's hard to farm something out when you know you can do it yourself- but please watch that back.

Hi BJ and treasa.........looks good aunt Illa. I understand about paying someone. I traded for a partial fence and they put the nice side on my neighbors side. I don't mind. but it looks like they paid for it. lol.
