Newest Family Additions
The Chichuaua's name is Zippy. He has a lot of energy and 1 1/2 years old. A lot like Killer but lighter and a little bigger. The reddish one is Cabbage. She is a dingo. A little chubby and 9 years old. Their owner is disabled and having to move where they don't allow pets. Right now I am a foster mom. I get to keep them if I should decide to but I have been warned that their fate is not good if I don't. Zipper has taken over Killer's spot on the back of the couch. They both took to the other animals here and they to them. Zippy has to be snipped yet and the society here (SNIPPS) will do that and do all the vet stuff for me as they need shots and stuff. I also have in the house 4 baby chicks in a box in BJ's room, and a cat from Joe and Lynn in my bedroom that hides in there as she is pretty anti social. They are all doing really well. Zippy runs around and wants outside but as soon as you put him out on the leash he wants back in. In a day or two I will be able to let Cabbage out by herself I think. I am beginning to feel like a zoo. I also have an abandanded kitten, and two others with a mamma that I have in here. Pretty soon I will be able to let them out too. The little one needs to be just a bit bigger. Anyway I thought you might like to know and see.
Love to all. Illa

That reminds me, we watched 'Beverly Hills Chihuahua' with the kids the other nite. Cute. You need 8 pink booties!
I hope you are able to keep them since they all get along. That a step in the right direction.
I went to the pound and looked for a dog for Rick and found a 1 1/2 years old black Chihuahua, male. I visited him several times and was ready to bring him, gave him a hug and he bit me on the nose. I felt really bad because he was such a sweet little dog. I don't need another bitter like Jimmy was so I had to leave him. Probably best if Rick picks out his own dog anyway. Our Missy (Collie mix) is awesome and fits in so great with Triscuit. If I can ever figure how o get the pictures fom my camera to the blog I'll put in a picture of Triscuit in her princess dress and Missy together.
Rick gets home tomorrow. Hey!!! He's been gone 6 weeks.
Hey!!! Where is our Gonzo???
Well, we all survived the first night. The anti-social cat, Dipstick has taken over my room. I tried to sleep in there with the dogs as they are used to sleeping with their owner but that didn't work out. So The dogs and me slept in the grandkids room. They got me up at 5:30 to go potty. When taking them out, I found another abandoned baby with stuck shut eyes on the front porch. I think it is a sibling, litter mate, of Curious Georgina, looks like it, they are all cuddled up in the cat basket. The dogs are on the back of the couch looking out the window at the world passing them by. They are good watch dogs. The chicks are doing well. I have to go out and fix them a pen so that they can get into it in about another week when they are fully feathered. Zippy has just crawled up into my lap. he is such a lover. Now all I need to complete the managerie is a calf and colt, maybe a duck or goose. I already have some fish. But that is a little more work than I want.
The deck is on hold for the moment. First because I was waiting for Joe and them to come, now it is because I have to work. I have 2 more days left. i have to work on the pen supposedly this am. At least the dogs do well while I am out. The house wasn't torn up when I went out to get milk and cat food about 7 am. So maybe tomorrow am before work I can. SIFCI is de-activating the lightning plan now so hopefully that means it should be a good day to work outside with metal tools. There is still puffy clouds and it could pop up again. Depends on how warm it gets. I expect it. I have to mow again. The stuff that I mowed 2 weeks ago around the cars and outbuildings doesn't even look like I touched it. It is 2 feet high again. Oh well, that is what you get when you want to live in the country.
The dogs must have lived out where it was really quiet. They pop up to look every time something goes by on the highway. They mind really well. Cabbage pulled her collar/leash off this am while outside but came to me when I called her to put it back on. I keep wanting to call Zippy, Killer, as he is so much like him in all his actions.
Bonnie, I hope Rick finds the little one he wants. These guys just fell into my lap as I wasn't really seriously looking. I could have taken only one but they have been together quite a while. It is bad enough that I couldn't take their big buddy as he would have had to stay outside.I believe that Bonnie said that he was a German Shepard/Lab mix. I could probably take him if he gets along ok with Lucky as he could use a companion. Will have to wait and see. I just can't see putting an animal down just because you can't find someone right away. Bonnie and Allison have a kennel to keep him in for a bit. These are a couple of really kool ladies. Bonnie is our retired DR. here. They are "a couple" and have been for a long, long time. It is kind of funny that Bonnie is the only one that Ben would let me see in our Dr.s office. She is very good. She was just getting things figured out what was happening to me when she retired, which figures.
Well, I had better quit. This is becoming a book. Love you all.

I will take dogs over teenagers lol. you want to trade?
The teenagers might not like it much. The dogs sit around and look cute. The teenagers, I would put to work as they don't look cute sitting around. So that wouldn't be too good a trade for them.
Love them but they need to do something. i can't talk as I had trouble getting mine to do something then. But I try hard to get them to. Now they aren't that prepared to do things on their own and use their own initiative. I understand how they are scared to do things on their own. We all were but have to take the leap sometime. Fly from the nest before we are pushed. They will get there. Hard road sometimes tho.
Love you all. Illa
Hey, I was involved in Drama Society, and the Ski Team, and there was my job... all as a teen. And let's not forget I studied my eyes out as a teen. OH, and woodshop.
You know all those nieces and nephews of yours want a chance to make me eat my words...
