Taxes done, e-filed, and 13 days with no cigarettes. Have to admit I rrealllly realllllly wanted one today. Good thing Ben stayed out of the way. hanging in there. love to all. b&I.

Wow, Illa, your quick! I'm impressed. Karen does our taxes as well. She hates doing it, but knows I'd have the IRS calling us constantly if I did it; so it's the only real alternative. Well, maybe she does it to relieve me of some stress too, she knows my brain functions somewhere in the 286mhz range. If you ever had a 286 you'll remember how it froze if you had more than a couple of windows open.
My first computer was a 286. Her name Jane Lola. But I called her Lola; simply because, whatever Lola wanted, Lola got. I tried to endow her with a lot's of add on's, but she never was really hot. Finally I bought a Pentium, I named her, Raquel, since she was already really built.
You might find this strange, but I miss Lola. When I look back, if I hadn't tried to make her more than she was, she was quite efficient. I hate to admit this, but I'm thinking, that the problem in our relationship was really with me, and she only wanted to please me. But that's water under the bridge, I've learned my lesson and am trying to be less demanding.
Recently a fellow brought a fabulous computer into the tech shop that rents from me. Talk about voluptuous! LED lights, water cooled, and a graphic cards that cost more than my laptop! Sound card more expensive than a Boss stereo. He had over $5000 into her.
Really, I kinda felt sorry for the young fellow who bought her; ya know, money can't buy love, and perception always displaces reality; he thinks her duel processors will make him happy. But I've learned this is far from true; happiness comes from contentment, and contentment comes from realizing that plain Jane may be all we really need.
Boy, some people REALLY know to make others feel guilty. Taxes done, that is only a dream around here. I think I need to take a day off work to get our papers together.
I admire Peter with his 286 computer, some people have it all. I keep my abacus around. I like the way you make your computers sound really 'hot' too. I wonder if there's a plug-in for my abacus to speed it up a little. Oh, wait a minute, it's my processor that's running it. Now I'm really discouraged.
I quit doing our taxes when I was painting signs. I HATE trying to do them. I always lived in dread at the thought of getting to the know the IRS on a first name basis. Whatever we must pay the accountant to do our taxes is worth a few less gray hairs. Besides, I have someone to ask some really dumb questions of.
By the way, congrats on resisting the urge to smoke.
I use that Turbo Tax. It is the only way I go now. Did the Audit thing, the Accountant thing, and then this. This is harder to understand sometimes, takes you in round about ways, never goes the way i write up the papers to get the totals, have to pour over the pages to make sure i got everything in, but it takes less time doing it. The thing that takes all the time is getting everything together and totaled on paper. Took about a week to get everything together but one day to put it all on the comp. The thing that gets me is the percentage thing of your deductions. I think they should take that out again. Especially to retired people and the medical. Also can't use BJ as a dependent anymore either. Oh, well. At least it is done, and I feel good about it.
