Did you hear the cry?

That's right, a cry, maybe even a scream. That would be my cry of sorrow, and scream of distraught, signaling the end of summer. Tomorrow is my first report day and I am not a happy camper. Just say I will not be in a good mood tomorrow.

Keep your chin up Jim. Don't you only have about 14 years till retirement?

I thought you loved school. What's this? A teacher wanting to runaway before it has even started?? You are in for a bad year from the start this way.

jim,
i tell you what. I will gladly trade you places for say 3 months, then you come back for 3 months, give me some time off and then take another 3 off. do a rotation thing.
give your self a couple of weeks and youll get back in the grove of things. just think thanksgiving is coming up shortly then there is christmas vacation.
and as far as the scream. I thought it was a squadron of f-22s doing a 500 ft fly over.

HAHA >>>> that's what you get for being a teacher! OMG what sane person would be one, or at least after a few years could you possibly be sane? I know how my gr kids are in school and how I was, I pity you !!! But then you do get summers and weekends off. I guess somebody has to teach the monsters!

I felt a glimmer of optimism at school today, maybe because there weren't any kids. We won't have kids until next Tuesday. For the time being it's just meetings, planning, and preparing. Maybe this year won't be so bad.

Geez, suck it up you sad sacks! There are 36,000 teachers in Calif who wished they HAD JOBS to return to this fall. We are the LUCKY ones.

And I can tell you all, Jim LOVES his job and is very good at it. The kids are crazy about him, the parents think he's a prince and even the dogs in the street wag their tails when he drives by.

So don't let his whining move you. He is a spoiled brat.

Yeah Sandi, we knew that before you said it. But you bring up a good point. Everyone is spoiled. I think Jim would be happiest to take Gonzo on long hikes looking for bigfoot scat. I have a great job, but I'd rather sit and watch my grandkids play tag on the beach all day. I guess there's always something better to do. And, I guess that's not so bad. It possible to always be yearning for the better life, and thankful for what you have as well.
