Chuck in ICU as of 10:30pm
Just in a nut shell chucks BS got very very low. 30s/40s range. I took him to the hospital today and they gave him some gloucose and raised it to 219. an hour later it was 141. an hour after that it was in the 50s. They tried for 9 hours to make it stable and it would get to a reasonable rate (75-150 is good) and within the hour it would drop below 50. so they decided to put him in ICU and will be testing every hour. then if its a decent level twice in a row, they will check every 2 hours.if it maintains 2xs every 4 hours they will move him from ICU.
Thank you Suzi for your help in making the decision i should of made yesterday. Im really upset with myself that I didnt follow my first instincts.
thats all for now after spending 9 hours in ER.

Dick I will keep you in my prayers. I know it can be hard, so glad you are there. Lili
Wonder why it's not staying stable, hmmm? Take care and hope the docs figure something out.
Dick; did the doc's speculate why he was so unstable? That's like living with a time bomb - without the timer, strapped to your chest.
What a quandary!
Everyone, just an FYI; Dick is doing a great job of taking care of Chuck’s needs; observing and monitoring Chuck’s medications and diet Just from the short time I was there Dick was making sure that he tested Chuck’s blood sugar, ensured that he had the proper pills on schedule, and prepared for Chuck, not food that Chuck wanted but the food he needed.
I am very grateful for all he’s done.
Jim
Seems that the meds he was taking for his BS was an issue. So the discontinued one of them that drops his BS and were holding off on his other.
Dick, you are doing such a great job with his diet, and such a great job with his meds, maybe now it's a matter of him needing to be readjusted. His diet was completely out of control before you got there--you've kept him alive. This situation is not your fault. I know how you feel--I've been through the same thing. When they beg you not to call the ambulance, when they tell you they're just a "little dizzy," it's almost impossible to know for sure what you're seeing. Hang on, hang on. I've got you both in my heart and on my mind. I know we all do.
I'm sure we all second what Sandi says. Freewill can be very self destructive.
And don't forget that in infection can mess with bloodsugar like that. I talked to April, and she had a diabetic relative that had similar happen due to an infection. Though I thought that was odd since my friend Faith has an infected tooth that doctors and dentists both won't do anything about, and that just drives her blood sugar up really high. Odd how different bodies will do things different.
I hope that made sense, I've had a terribly time conveying what I mean today. I lost track of how many times I confused my Argentinie friend today when we were discussing our classes and then stuff for a game we both help manage.
Dick know that I understand, as my blood goes all over at times when I have an infection. Also with the meds, and foods, it does have an effect on that.
How I learned was little foods, every four hours, not three meals a day, more like snacking. Also if I questioned what was going on, it was the food and my system. So I would take my blood before the food, and then a half hour after
take it to see what the count was.
It works. As I react to foods and I have found this with Lisi and others it als works...
I have a need to fix my teeth, and am aware of the infection I have with my gums and teeth, so my blood is showing that. And then with the flu, it's been hard to deal with.
What you drink also affects that and to much of it can cause this.
We do seem to have a problem with this, and any stress with issues cause the blood pressure to go up.
I do hope this helps you, and when Chuck get's upset, that will also do that, so he does need to get his upset and anger under control, when he get's upset.
It is not the cause of you, be aware, but what is going on with.
him. You can use your own system on this, for you have the problems with dealing with foods and such.
Keep up the great work. Your are doing the greatest, and with Suzy and Illa, support of Glenda and all those in your team, you have the greatest outreach and help.
Suzy is so great in this, and a wonderful support for you in dealing with this. Never fear to turn to her, you came into this cold.... you are doing great.
If I can share my own fight on this, please let me know in my own fight. I will share my own fight with you on this.
I did find my allergies affected this, and I am ware of Chucks allergies, with the house, and he seems to get better with it clean.
my health was better down there, as I was not around allergies that affected me, like I am fighting here.
Just know you are doing great and I am so proud of you.
