roll call

Well,I was able to talk to Chuck this evening. Seemed in pretty good spirits and made a comment before I asked. He said he is taking him meds and feels good. I was glad to hear his voice and think he is doing better. As for his meds, I think he needs help to write down the name of the meds and what they are for. Still, good to hear his voice !! Ben

I need to call Chuck this weekend too, but Ben, how are you feeling? Are you walking around more?

Ben is feeling a little better. We were spending most of the day outside. Only coming in for meals for me and dressing changes for him until dark.

It got cold and windy the last 2 days. But we went out anyway.

Wen I got down on Monday Ben was loosing weight. He had gone down to 136 #. now he has gained back up to 141. That is with all the walking. They also put him back on the TPN round the clock again.

He had a CT scan on Thursday. We don't know the results yet. The Dr.s are talking about sending him home until the next surgery. So I am contacting Hospice to come do the home health care. So in about 2 weeks he should be home.

I am back home for the weekend. It has been cold, froze hard, and snowing off and on today. Not much but at least you know that winter is here. Going to play havoc on trying to get things done here outside. But it will get done.

So I am going to get ready to go to bed as soon as the races are over. Ben lost the channel last night that carries them for some reason. Something to do with the main satellite dish I guess. Will talk to you all later.

Love Ben and Illa

Its been cold here. tonight they are saying low 40s. we still need rain to bring the salmon upriver. at least the 2 that i like to fish.
but your elevation is alot higher. so it dosnt surprise me that your getting snow off and on.

I'm sure it feels better to be up and around then laying in bed all day. Too bad it's been cold and windy. It's been really windy on the coast too. Clear, but windy.
I hope that you get all the things done around your house that you need to.
Dick, you better look harder for a job. In three months at that rate you'll have gained 30 pounds!

Now you're talking, the very essence of our existence; to provide for our own sustenence sans the grocery store.
I'd be in trouble. We grew three tomatoes this year.

I got buckets this year and I didn't take that good of care of them. They are between the two front porches that protect them from the wind. I picked the last of them yesterday and most of them are green so will see how it goes putting them in newspaper to ripen. I haven't had this good a crop in 15 years at least. I grew these plants from seed. They were Beefsteak tomatoes. I needed to start 2 weeks earlier but they did well. Don't know what I will do with all of them. Just hope they keep.
