I finally got a chance to adventure down a road i have been wanting to drive on.
The first picture is a large burl on one of the "little" redwoods that grow around here. the next two are the same burl with me in the pic to give it a little perspective. the fourth is one of the redwoods that dwarf my truck.
Pretty amazing how big these buggers grow. I guess with all the rain that falls in this area, it has to benefit somehow. :) Dick

Hey Dick, cut me a table size chunk of that burl and bring it by when your this way.
You going to oil or varnish that slab, and can I help?
I think I'll varnish it. Come on up.
So will you guys pay for the lawyer, fine and bail if i bring it up. i think it would crush my truck if i tried to load it on top.

The loggers call them 'red weeds' around here.
