What better way to end a hard day of work! Dick and I went kayaking this evening in the harbor.

Joey liked it.

believe me getting into that yak and getting it in the water was work. i think i even broke a sweat. :)
it is the first time id been in a kayak. although it is something that i have been wanting to try for awhile. i was a little apprehensive in doing it. but, like anything else in life its just one of those things that you just got to suck it up and do it if you want to do it bad enough.
it was really kind of cool to have the seals scoping us out, and you could see that they were more curious about us than we were of them. at one time there were 5-6 between jim and i. and we were about 40 ft apart.
All week its been stormy here. Then today it broke. and was nice and calm and warm. perfect.

OMGosh,I am so jealous. I am so overwhelmed with project work for my database class and when I saw your pics I thought, "OK - I am going to treat myself to the same thing at the harbor in Half Moon Bay as soon as this term is over!" It would be so much more fun if I had someone to go with though!! Dick, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Isn't great being on the water?

peter, ya got to do this next time your down here. maybe jim will take you when you come down for the reunion. and dont say your to old. if bush 41 can jump out of a plane at his age you can go float on water. remember only Jesus walked on water.

So, do they have remote loading kayaks? It's been a while since I've gotten into a canoe, let along a kayak. I'm sure I'd have to paddle wet for about three hours - after falling in a couple times trying to get in there. Sounds like a summer sport to me. Be sure to bring your camera when I try it. Better yet, even more fun, bring it when Glenda tries!!!

Glenda, why drive all the way to Half Mooon Bay when you can just drive to Crescent City for an even (I believe)better experience.
Peter, getting into a kayak is much easier than a canoe as they have a better center of gravity. Don't worry about getting wet, we have plenty of towels here, Besides, the blowing wind will dry you off in only two hours.

This looks awesome. I finally got the pictures to load. Had to go around another way as firefox seems to bee strange for the last 2 days.

Glad you are having a great time. I finally got a huge bill paid off yesterday. Got the reciept for it today so now that leaves the house (1st and 2nd) and 3 medicals left. It is getting down to where I can survive now. I hope that soon I can rest better. I checked today thinking that I should have put on some weight as I have been eating more only to find that I had lost another 10 pounds. I am hoping that it is because I am doing more physically and that it is turning into muscle instead of just getting lost.

I really need a vacation. Come on march 15th. I want to go to the coast. How are things going at home Teresa? I got a book of gazebos to get an idea for the shrine. The one on the cover is really great. Would have to be enclosed tho to protect the urns.

Well, I had better get. Time to get to bed. Work tomorrow. Good night. Love to all. Illa

Jim you and Sandy inspired me when you made such a rush trip to the City...maybe I could survive a "quick" trip to CC. Peter, I'm looking forward to your pictures. I, of course, will be the picture of grace!
