ocean trip

Just to let all know, Illa and I made it to Crescent City for three days. This was the first time we had been there for Illa's birthday !! We met Jim and Sandi for an excellent dinner and conversations !! Sandi is as sexy as ever, btw. Sorry Jim but I aint blind yet !!! lol
Illa and I had two days of GREAT weather(no rain). The first day and the last day, so we felt pretty lucky. Even on the secound day, we still took a nice long walk on the beach. We always bring extra shoes and clothing because we plan on getting wet. To us, that is part of the journey.
We found a nice cabin close to Agate beach for $95.00 a night. It is called Viewcrest (Lodge). Has a cabin with a balcony and ocean view. We suggest it to all who want a nice night with the charms of the ocean.
Also, before the rumor gets out, I got my first speeding ticket during the trip. The car behind me was pushing me to go faster !!!

Sounds like a great trip. So glad you could make it. Your comment about the rain reminded me of our mom; she loved the rain, when I was young and living with her in Frisco, when it started to rain, she'd grab my hand and want to go for a walk. Ever since then I've appreciated 'weather' for what ever beauty if offers. Peter

Agate beach is one of our favorite spots and I even know where View Crest lodge is. Boy I almost smell the kelp and the salt air, it keep calling me. Can't wait to share these ocean pictures with Rick. Three more weeks. Boy I miss him.
What is happening to my family, first, one is ripping labels off, makes me do it too, and then another is getting in trouble for speeding. My goodness. I always kid Rick because he is such a slow driver, get him talking and driving at the same time even if he sets the cruise he manages to drive under the speed limit. And me, well Dick do you remember dad always saying, "your allowed 5 miles over" so I stretch it to 6. I have never gotten a speeding ticket (knock on wood) but Rick has. And no I don't let him forget it. I really miss my big horn.
Our GPS is a Garmin nuvi 350 and we can load map but don't need to because we usually go to the same places. A hand held one should be less expensive. Thanks for the input.

ya i remember dad saying that. I also remember him reminding someone to set the emergency brake on the t-bird so it wouldnt roll backwards down the hill into the big ole maple tree. hmmm.
or not to drive into buildings.
oh the stories i could tell but well just leave it at that.
i actually put one of dads lincolns in the ditch one morning. we wont get into that either.
In california the speed limit for semis is 55. but if your doing 60 you still get blown by, by them.
i guess im kind of like Rick, better to get there late than not at all. I get alot of flack from other drivers at work cuse they think im slow at doing my routes. oh well

Ore, Ill, are 55 also, and your right if your smart you don't tempt fate, with a CDL especially. Even getting a ticket in your personal car could lose your license. I can never understand these drivers passsing me up like I'm standing still. I really don't brake the law. I just have to be careful of my lead foot. I always thought I should have been a race care driver. I can't stand having someone in front of me, I have to pass them up so I can see ahead.
I also remember the bread and butter saying and learning a real man always walks closest to traffic. Wow did we really learn this from Glenna? I am beginning to feel ashamed of myself for my attitude about her all these year. One thing I have always hated was when people say they don't like someone and have never taken the time to get to know them. I shut my heart to Glenna based mostly on what I was told. Is'nt it going to be wonderful when we get to heaven and get a second chance to really talk to our mom? You know, I never thought of that before. Thanks guy's for opening my eyes and heart.

Ben i got pulled over on 395 about 2 miles from Ravendale fire station. I was doing 80. After a conversation with her, she just ended up giving me a tongue lashing and let me go. When i got to the station I was talking to the guys there and they said that they all got a ticket from her, even with their fire gear in the vehicle.
Ahh - skunk patrol - you got to love them.
Bonnie
I try to explain that to the guys at work but they are idiots. driving the trucks that we do does not require a CDL (26000). but with it i am held more accountable Im what you call a "professional". sometimes i think its more of a curse.
