Singing and dancing in the rain

Peter, That is so funny what you said about Glenna loving the rain. Rick always grabs the umbrella and runs. I love to be out in it. I always tell him, "I'm not going to melt". My neighbors thought I was crazy when they saw me outside in a downpour loading boxes to take to storage. I decided maybe I should go in when the thunder and lightening got just a little to close. In Tenn. the rain is usually a warm rain so its kinda refreshing. LOL

Is funny the inhearted things we have and we dont realize where they come from. we have so many things in common and cant really pin them on any of our adopted upbringing. I think that our Mother had some very unusual but yet sensitive and emotional traits that we got from her. Be they good or otherwise.
When I was like 6 or 7 I remember a time that she and i lived in L.A. and she decided that she wanted to go to the farmers market. To tell you the truth I cant remember what time of year it was, but i think it was in the early fall.
Any way as we were getting ready to leave the farmers market it started to lightning and thunder. It scared me. But she told me that as long as i held onto her hand id be safe. and that everythin would be ok.
3 things i learned that night.
1- the game of bread and butter. thats where you walk down the side walk and as you come to a telephone pole or street sign you let go of each other hand and as you got to the other side of the sign you joined hands again and said "bread and butter"
2-A gentleman always walks on the street side of the side walk.
3- the most important - my mommy loved me.

Dick, I never knew mom taught that to anyone else! To this day I cannot walk on the inside of the sidewalk without feeling like a cad. Peter

I remember before going in the army. I had taken the greyhound to Portland to visit the twins and Suzzi, of course it was raining, HARD, I was walking on the sidewalk and SOAKED yet splashing in any water I found. A girl on a porched yelled at me, "are you nuts or what, it's soaked out there !!" All I could think of was how refreshing and exhilarating it felt !! lol

Well, I must be Glenna's child too then, because I always look for puddles to splash in when it rains...I used to take my little sons for walks in the rain on Saturdays. I feel that one must dance in the rain in order to really appreciate the roaring fireplace later...
